Movement Music Festival - Detroit

Tee Grizzley

Tee Grizzley laces his rhymes with the kind of stories usually reserved for the big screen. He holds nothing back as he honestly chronicles trials, tribulations, and triumphs on the streets of his native Detroit firsthand with a documentarian’s attention to detail. As such, the multiplatinum rapper, popular gamer, Grizzley Gang Music founder, and proud husband and father continues to captivate by living his own underdog story out loud via his music.

Back in 2016, he returned home from prison and took the first step on the road to redemption. He made a conscious decision to focus on rap, put his head down, and did just that…

His debut single “First Day Out” went quadruple-platinum as he expanded his catalog with the double-platinum “From the D to the A” [feat. Lil Yachty], and gold-certified bangers “2 Vaults,” “Jetski Grizzley,” “No Effort,” and “Satish,” to name a few. 2021’s Built For Whatever marked his third straight Top 20 debut on the Billboard 200, Top 10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, and Top 10 on the US Rap Albums Chart. In addition to praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The FADER, and many more, he has garnered support from JAY-Z and LeBron James, while Ari Melber graciously hosted him on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber. Expanding his imprint on culture, he has become a top gamer on Twitch regularly streaming GTA RP, Call Of Duty, and more to over 1 million followers. As a businessman, he runs Grizzley Gang Music to sign up-and-coming artists along with Grizzley Gang Gaming which hosts Grizzley World RP one of the most popular GTA RP servers. Among various partnerships, he notably teamed up with retail platforms NTWRK and Dodge to release a limited-edition sneaker by Dexter The Creator.

In 2022, he delivered an epic in the form of his visual album, Chapters of the Trenches. It extended his viral “Robbery” video series, piled up tens of millions of streams and views, and incited tastemaker applause. Billboard dubbed him “Rap’s Martin Scorsese” and attested, “Storytelling has always been a pillar of rap, but nobody in the industry is doing it like Tee Grizzley right now.”

He only parlayed this momentum into a massive 2023. Right out of the gate, he joined forces with Skilla Baby for the joint mixtape Controversy. It yielded a hit with “Gorgeous” boosted by an official Remix featuring City Girls. Beyond lighting up social media and TikTok, UPROXX hailed it as ”a rambunctious single highlighted by a thumping instrumental and typically clever lyrics from the Motor City.”

Still, Tee Grizzley continues to write his story in real time. It unfolds further on his next LP powered by a Motor City-born engine of soul-shaking delivery, deft lyricism, and unbreakable spirit. His legend is just beginning though.
