Waajeed

Waajeed is a musical artist from Detroit, constantly shape-shifting to inspire the spirit of his people. A founding member of Slum Village and Platinum Pied Pipers, his over twenty-year career has found him collaborating with musicians from all over the spectrum of sound. Comfortable with both hip-hop crews and avant-garde installations, his main missive is authenticity, embodied by his label Dirt Tech Reck. Currently, he is working to build out the Underground Music Academy to foster multi-generational skill-sharing for Detroit musicians.
